Sometimes you hear an idea and you just know it’s going to work. I came across the website for 10 Little Birds the other week and immediately fell in love with the concept. It  just chimes perfectly with our times. The business sells kids gifts but with everything priced at £10 or less – a kind of middle class version of the pound shop, but without the tat!

 It’s pitched as a one-stop-shop for birthday gifts, holiday extras or party bags and that’s definitely how I’d use it – there’s even a £5 and under tab for smaller gifts. Choose from sticker books, cuddly toys, sheepskin baby boots, friendship bracelets, retro presents, Orchard toys, Usborne books, crafty stuff… everything you’d probably gather up at John Lewis if only you could make it into the store.

Obviously you have to factor in the delivery cost (though it’s free for orders of £50 or more), but for someone like me, who is perpetually chasing her tail, it’s a short cut to good quality presents without the last minute hassle. Worth a gander I reckon.
